From pediatric cardiology to integration manager

My story starts in 2017. I first found out about the Triple Win programme through friends who had succeeded in finding jobs in Germany. At that time, everything about working in Germany seemed very complicated, difficult, opaque, unreal – and I had about a thousand questions... But with the help of the team at Triple Win, I successfully completed the preparation process and set off for Germany in March 2018.

I arrived in Tübingen, a city known for its history and one of the oldest universities in Germany, home to an international chocolate festival, an ancient bridge and also a hospital that employs over 10,000 people.

As a newcomer, I started working in the pediatric cardiology department, which I found to be the most difficult medical field at the time – everything seemed lacking in clarity and somehow difficult. However, with the help of my colleagues who were always helpful and supportive, I learned the ropes and felt at home. After 8 months, I was holding my recognition certificate in my hand.

New starts are often difficult, and mine was no exception. I’ve always used setbacks to reevaluate myself and move on, to become stronger and better. None of this would have been possible without the support of my parents, my then girlfriend – now my wife, who I met through the Triple Win project – my brother and the people at Triple Win, who have become like a family to me over time.

Once my qualifications were recognized, I kept going... I wanted more, I wanted to learn and to help the many foreign nurses who come to Germany. In Tübingen, I successfully completed several additional and specialist training courses to assist with the integration of foreign workers.

In 2022, I applied for an integration and recognition manager position in Dachau, and over the past two years, I have helped more than 120 people and successfully guided them through the process of getting their qualifications recognized.
